For example, check out the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at UC Davis which has presented with the group. You can volunteer and avoid paying the hefty ticket fee to hear the speakers. As a volunteer, you can listen to the inspirational ideas in the TEDx style conference format. After all, TEDx Sacramento is one of the first TEDx groups around.

For her final outfit, Jessica shows the What Not to Wear team a brightly printed halter dress. Stacy and Clinton like the shape and cut of the dress, with its cut-in waist and A-line skirt, but they feel it's kind of a vintage 40s "costume". They offer to show her something that has more versatile pieces that she can dress up or dress down.

4) What would you say if you had no fear? Of course, part of social media is a focus on getting readers, traffic, and subscribers. But, just for instance- what would you say if you had no fear? If you did not care about what people thought, what would you say? Of course, your direct self-expression may turn people off. But were they really the right people anyway?

I have worked from my home for over 13 years. I feel a great sense of freedom but at times, an even greater sense of isolation. I recently joined The Commons Workplace in my home town. I have a membership for 1 day per week where I can get out of my office, get a change of scenery and interact with real live humans. Not only has it been great to get out of my home office, it has been a great source of referrals. And the best part - it has expanded my creativity. I am surrounded by other small business owners who I can collaborate with. I attend monthly happy hours and weekly hyperlinking to the TED chats. I used to struggle with finding time to work on my business. Now I commit to one day per at the Commons and it is all about my business, my professional development and my marketing.

So why is TED so popular? It could be a combination of excellent content and scarcity. People can watch videos, though they will not have the true TED experience, but at the same time, access is given to a wealth of wisdom free online. One 18 minute speech could change a view, direction, or plant an idea. Therefore, TED would be meeting its goal of spreading ideas that are worth being given consideration.

School and college students attend several different classes and study a number of subjects. They need to keep track of assignments, homework and tests for all the different classes. If you are such a student, this app will make your life a little easier. All you need to do is enter the information in the app; it will send you alerts and remind you when your homework is due.

Certain other statistics are collected such as time when the emotion was recorded as well as where the writer was and if possible age and gender. These feelings are then transformed into animated coloured dots of different sizes depending on how long the description of the feeling was. These dots dance around on a dark back ground. The software comes with all sorts of tools that allow one to analyse the information further.

Check out the many TEDx videos on the YouTube site such as: Change the Work to Fit the People: Allen Fahden at TEDxSacramento and The game theory/ultra running connection: Lisa Donchak at TEDxSacramento. Or see the videos, Redefining the Support Group: Liz Salmi at TEDxSacramentoSalon and Redefining the Support Group: Liz Salmi at TEDxSacramentoSalon. Eventually, videos of some of the TEDx Sacramento speakers get uploaded to YouTube, usually from previous years.
